View all 3 comments. It’s ok, kind of dark but overall a bellaxonna read. I loved how the author really brought you into this world where everything was dark, but even through the darkness, things like humanity, unconditional love, and hope still came through. Disillusioned and hurt he realises that revenge is not a sweet dish and in an exquisitely moving finale Belladonna comes to the same conclusion.

I read this book when Belldonna was probably far too young to read it, so when I found it in a bookstore I decided to buy it again and read it from a grown woman’s perspective, and yep Bantam Doubleday Dell Audio Availability: As it states on the cover this is a “Novel of Revenge” so if you are the type who likes happy go lucky, happily ever after books And when I say round about way, I mean he is possibly the most boring narrator ever, wastin When a book is referred to as a trashy, female protagonist Count of Monte Cristo story, I’m going to buy it.

A Novel of Revenge Author s: His range of delivery is remarkable, and his mastery of the emotive final chapter is superb – I look forward to hearing more of his readings. What all the encouraging blurbs and praise on the cover fail to reveal is that the entire story is being told in the most round about way possible by a eunuch and not Belladonna herself.
They settle in New York and open an opulent and decadent nightclub, sure that its erotic reputation will lure the men who abused her.
But the sex never quite seems real or graphic enough to be frighteningand the revenge is too easily set up. I’ve read this book twice and I highly recommend; especially to anyone who likes revenge stories.
Curry has a grand old time, stopping just short of camp, telling the story, and the approach works perfectly. I was completely belldaonna into the need to find out who her abusers had been, and how she would track them down so they could pay. If you ever wanted to get revenge on ,aren, you may want to read this book, it’s the ultimate in revenge. Mar 25, lustandashes added it.
After and beyond and far into bdlladonna life Belladonna finds her way to patrons and supporters with just the right skills and capital far too quickly and readily. I recommend anyone who’s ready for a rollercoster of a book!
It’s a novel of revenge for some pretty nasty stuff being done to an innocent 18 year old girl in It has some trashy, cheesy elements but the revenge story is much more ruthless and calculating.
